EYE EXAMINATIONS
Eye care starts with regular, routine
examinations. Since
many eye diseases show no immediate symptoms until the damage is done, regular
eye exams are one of the most important things you can do for your vision and
your overall health. Eye exams can help detect
cataracts,
glaucoma and retinal
disease, as well as diabetes
and high-blood pressure. At Angeles Vision
Clinic, we are committed to providing our patients the best possible
care. We use advanced technology in a friendly
caring atmosphere to give you the most precise vision and health care advice
possible.
During your examination, Dr. Thompson will:
- Record your visual and general health
history.
- Evaluate the health of your eyes including
tests
for glaucoma and cataracts.
- Check for signs of high blood pressure,
diabetes
and other diseases that can be detected during
the eye examination.
- Measure distance and near visual abilities.
- Test eye coordination and focusing skills.
- Analyze and explain your visual problem in
an understandable way.
- Prescribe for your particular needs.
If you have diabetes, high blood pressure,
heart disease, arthritis, elevated cholesterol, or thyroid disease, your vision
and the health of your eyes could be affected. Also, certain medications can
cause visual problems, which is why it's so important to have your eyes examined
on a regular basis.
We,
at Angeles Vision Clinic diagnose and treat most eye problems, including eye injuries, glaucoma,
diabetic eye diseases, eye infections, macula degeneration and dry eyes, to name
a few. It is our goal to equip you with detailed
information about your eyes, thus giving you the proper tools to make good decisions concerning
your visual welfare. If problems arise beyond the scope of Optometry,
we will see that referrals are made to the most qualified specialists
available. Our office maintains a close working relationship with;
glaucoma, retinal, cataract, corneal, refractive surgery, and neuro specialist.
We believe in the team approach to achieve the best eye
care possible.
