The success of a lens prescription depends on many factors: the proper lens design and material can mean a comfortable, clear view of the world or many difficulties adapting.  Product knowledge and experience can make all the difference when determining which lens will work best for you.  An incorrect measurement can cause headaches, impaired vision or distortion.  Even inaccurate adjustments to your frame can affect your vision.  We strive to provide the personalized attention you deserve.

An important Note from Dr. Thompson

Welcome to avclinic.com We hope you find the site interesting and informative. Within this site you will find original essays explaining common vision problems and eyecare issues in an easy-to-understand format. As I searched the internet comparing other vision care sites, I was hard pressed to find good, understandable and informative literature on common eyecare issues. This was surprising to me. We want our patients to be as well informed as possible. This is my attempt to offer information in an understandable manner. Please e-mail me by clicking on any "avclinic.com" with suggestions, comments or questions. We are pleased to present this site as a value-added service. Our services include family practice, Low Vision, diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts, contact lens services, computer eyestrain solutions, refractive surgery consultation and vision services for the elderly.

Vision is priceless: you only have two eyes. Vision problems affect a large segment of the population. That is why I take the time during your exam to explain findings, offer options and make recommendations. During your appointment you will not be processed through the office or rushed through the examination. Our staff is friendly, personable, knowledgeable and experienced. They can answer most of your questions. What they can't help you with will be deferred directly to me. We do not have technicians who work up patients for the Doctor, only to have the Doctor see you for 5 minutes; all your time in examination is spent directly with me. I am always happy to discuss any topic that is of concern to you in the office.  I also have available a 24 hour emergency service for established patients. Just call the office number and the service will have me, or if I am not available another doctor paged. This service is for emergencies only.

We offer a full service Optical and a selection of over 900 frames.  We specialize in difficult contact lens fits and pre and post operative refractive surgery care. I personally guarantee your contact lens fit. Should you be unhappy with your lenses for ANY reason during the first 3 months, having exhausted all other contact lens options; even if you just decide that contact lenses aren't for you, I will gladly refund contact lens material fees upon return of the undamaged lenses. There is no reason lenses should end up sitting in the medicine cabinet.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kirk L. Thompson
